Carmelle's story
My mother passed years before her body did. She had dementia and Alzheimer’s and little by little, we watched her slip away. Although complex, I came to learn that my mom’s condition was rooted in inflammation of the brain.
Not long before she passed, I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes and fatty liver disease. While I know sugar didn’t directly cause our conditions, I discovered something that changed my perception of nutrition forever - sugar is ALWAYS the usual suspect. It’s the ingredient lurking in the background when so many receive a diagnosis for a chronic disease like diabetes, heart disease, dementia, and even glaucoma.
As I dove down that rabbit hole, I learned that the foundation of healing is a plant-based way of eating. I’m now plant-based and I’m Sugar-Free by Design.
I do what I do because we don’t know this connection. I do what I do because we’ve been kept in the dark for too long. I do what I do because I don’t want anyone to suffer from the horrible disease we know as Alzheimer’s, and I don’t want their families to watch them disappear before their time.
The truth is, the chronic lifestyle diseases we suffer from as a society can be prevented, reversed, and healed.
So, I do what I do because I want to give everyone a real chance at true health, longevity, and vitality.
