MPower Ventures is on a mission to create inclusive energy access while reducing carbon emissions by providing affordable, high-quality solar products to underserved communities across Zambia, Togo, Cameroon, Ghana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, and Botswana
MPower’s model leverages local distributors to reach last-mile customers through a combination of hardware, software, and financing solutions. To date, MPower has impacted over 75,000 people, avoided 12,000 tons of CO2 emissions, and enabled 5,000 customers to access financing for clean energy products.
This Kiva loan of $100,000 will provide working capital to purchase solar inventory for MPower’s operations in Cameroon and Togo. The loan will help MPower reach an additional 2,000 end-users, directly benefiting around 10,000 people by expanding access to reliable solar energy. By supporting MPower Ventures, Kiva lenders are helping to create a more equitable and sustainable energy future—one where communities can reduce their reliance on fossil fuels, improve their livelihoods, and build a path toward financial resilience.
