A loan of $15,000 helps a (2x Kiva borrower) woman-owned business decrease the effects of fibroids and racial health disparities.

Danett's story
Hi. I am a doctor of eastern medicine who specializes in women’s health born and raised in Queens, NY. Ever since I was a child, I have always believed that everyone should have the right to live long and healthy lives. But here in the United States where I live, black people are almost 60% more likely to die prematurely.
Even though these number may seem bleak, I am motivated by what I have witnessed over the last twenty plus years in private practice and through working in various health clinics. Personally and clinically I have seen how quality of health and life can be increased using the ancient wisdom of eastern medicine.
I am passionate about helping those who are most vulnerable to not experiencing good health and longevity do so, with an emphasis on black women. Through support during key life events like the postnatal time period, fibroid diagnosis and or removal, perimenopause, menopause etc.
and working preventively when possible, health and life span can be improved.
My plan for the future is to help as many women as possible take action towards helping to improve and maintain wellness through key reproductive phases and or conditions that can predispose them to further health disparities and lengthen and improve quality of life through services and online products and programs.
